Formerly of the fashion world, Kristen’s design and merchandising background informs her current abstract expressionist style and figurative painting style. Working from her Atlanta studio, her process is organic and defined by her attention to color, texture and gesture. Inspired by interiors, travel, music and family, Kristen often imagines her work in the home of its future collector. She produces work in a flurry of thought and emotion, and prefers to mix colors directly on the studio floor. Kristen’s body of work exemplifies her push toward innovative use of textural materials including large scale works on custom designed linen canvases.
